Arlene W. West, 88, of West Grove, Pa., passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, at the Jennersville Regional Hospital. She was the wife of Taylor A. West who passed away in 1983, and with whom she shared 44 years of marriage.Born in Landenberg, Pa., she was raised by her grandparents, the late M. Burton and Laura K. Weaver.
She was a Registered Nurse working at the West Grove Hospital and the Coatesville and Elsmere VA Hospitals. She retired in 1980, after 41 years of service. She was a graduate of the Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Arlene was a member of the West Grove United Methodist Church, the Oxford Senior Center, and a former member of the Avon Grove Business and Professional Women’s Association.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois Savidge and her husband Harold of West Chester, Pa. and Kathleen Gears and her husband James of West Chester, Pa., four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Family and friends visited with her family at the West Grove United Methodist Church, 300 N. Guernsey Road, West Grove, Pa. Her funeral service will followed. Burial was in New London Presbyterian Church Cemetery, New London, Pa.
